Alaigne  South of France

This is the medieval village of Alaigne.

We Paul and Sue live in our pretty little home (Rose Cottage) next to our holiday property (Honeysuckle Cottage) on the southern edge of this wine growing village.

The cottages originally the local vigneron homes have amazing views of the rolling countryside.

This is a great area for exploring the many wonderful historic places of this region. Summer, Autumn, Winter or Spring holidays can be fun and relaxing or as energetic as you like.

There is so much to see and do that many of our guests have said they will be back again and some have booked already for next year to continue their journey into this lovely part of the world.

The Aude is located between the Med and the Pyrenees in Southern France.  It has an excellent climate and boasts a reputation of having 300 days of sunshine a year.

Many attractions including Carcassonne La Cité with its medieval castle with winding stairways, beautiful stone arches and numerous passageways inviting you to explore their mystery.

The coast line with its wonderful quiet coves or busier touristy areas around Narbonne.  Castles, Chateaus, Museums, caves, lakes, rivers and mountains for skiing and walking and many many more places of interest.

The area is steeped in history around the cathars and Kate Mosse has written some great books about this which we have read and are now on the bookshelf in the cottage.

A great place to stay for your holiday. The warmth of summer, the colours of autumn, the splendor of winter or the fullness of spring……. You choose!
